If the cable you have is just to long, find a shorter one... What engine did the 92 have?
I used the cable that came from a previous V8 S10 I built that got totaled, don't remember what it came from but I think it was something like a 76 Nova... I'm not sure but I think the cable from a 4.3L S truck will work but if not you can just go to a junk yard and find a nice short one in an early 70's or 80's GM vehicle, bring the cable you have to compare... You need to upgrade your membership so you can post more than once a day... Good luck...

On my 87 it has the factory cable with one small loop. As long as the loop isn't to tight, it will work. If the loop is to tight then you will have binding issues.

I would like to make a correction, I checked it out and near as I can tell the Nova cable won't work, a cable from a 78 to 80 something Impala or Caprice will though, it's got the same mounting at the firewall and it's 21.125 inch long... MotorMite No. 04152 at partsamerica.com

yes 78-88 GM G-body cable, 73-87 chevy c-10 truck or just buy the 24" universal lokkar adjustable cable and be done with the guess work.

Lokar, cool place! Got a lot of great stuff. I live less than 1/2 mile from their shop! Knoxville, Tenn.

I have a Lokar looks and works great. I have one question thought what is the proper way to connect it to the pedal.

I looped mine around and I'm going to but the connectors from jegs that hook up to the carb and kick down cable.
