Ouch, that is a good one. My wife could care less about my truck. She did tell me" not riding in it until you have A/C in it". I try to keep things in perspective and not put the truck first. I keep GOD first, wife second, and the truck third. I get in trouble well that order gets mixed up. GOD has bleeded me with a good wife that understands and a great project I got dirt cheap. Yep, the coversion was already done and used as a DD for 3 years before I can along. The truck was owned for 16 years by the same family and the son did the LT1 conversion. The optispark died and he didn't have time to fix it. He sold that truck to me for $1150.00!! I spent a total of $2000 bucks to get the trck, fix it and register it. Where else can you find a screaming deal like that?? The best part is my neighbor bought my old DD for $2000.00 and was an even swap for me. What a deal!!

I have a girlfriend of 5 years-- she is very helpful in anything i do concerning my hobbies- she does'nt mind going to the dirt track and getting very dirty and muddy either. of course I treat her with total respect and keep her car running and dependable. So you give a little and you get a little. Don't neglect them women because of a piece of metal. There are lots of guys out there who are willing and ready to take your place in the blink of an eye.

If you show the attention most women want and need--you will definitely-COME OUT ON TOP !!!!!! And you must take care of financial business before the toys-- Women like that security.

Mine helps in every way,i have three boys 6,8 15, and they are gearheads from the word go so she realized she was out numbered. plus she trips out at the track when something happens. but she said i could have worst hobbies, plus she also said it was better to spend 20 dollars for parts than 20 for lap dances. GOOD POINT.

My wife is all for it. The only complaint thus far, windows aren't tinted to 5%. She come up with the ideas to add to it and I respect her wishes by doing them. However she still wants to have the mufflers put under the cab and have a set of turn downs even with the back of the cab! I love the rumble but just can't bring myself to cut up a new exhaust system just yet. I have a feeling it will be done before spring though. LOL!

The last thing I want is my girlfriend to help me. She's just mad right now as she borrows my truck once a week to go to Sam's and she won't be able to use it this weekend as I've been working on this motor swap for 5 days now (Slow due to a large learning curve and I'm still waiting for a couple of parts) and I'm STILL not done. She'll be shocked the next time she borrows it however. It'll have power steering and a V8. I'll say nothing to her either, just toss her the keys. I told her I was "tuning it up".

The wife left me a little over 2 yrs ago and the girlfriend helps me alot. That 's cool I guess, but i sure would like to see my kids more. The toys aren't worth it if you you love your family, guess everyone 's got changes if we could backtrack, huh.

Mine would rather I was back playing golf again, (ex 5 handicapper). She said I dressed nicer back then. She can't stand drag racing because it's too loud. She does the antiques thing so it balances out. When we have gone to the races, she makes me unhook the trailer so she can go shopping. Why would someone not like drag racing? I just can't figure that one out.

All this reminds me of back when my kids were growing up. The wife at the time had a problem with my kids coming in the house all greasy and dirty. But she failed to realize, there we were, all she had to do was look out the window and see us playing in the dirt and grease--safe and sound. Once she really got on my ass about it all. As I recall. I told her to step back and take a good look at those kids, dirty, greasy, -AND HAPPY. Well fed and clothed. I sternly told her that she should be thankful--I could have been out there chasing skirts-- neglecting our kids-- doing drugs-- etc. etc. etc. I was meeting my responsibilities-- and if she didn't like it-- hit the road and don't let the door hit her in the ass on the way out. Needless to say--she did step back and look at it from another angle-- she never said anything else about it. Later on when my kids took the steering wheel from me and started go-kart racing-- my son went on to win a track championship--my daughter finished second in the points in her class that consisted of 21--40 year old men. I was quick to remind her of back in the days of grease and dirt-and what a positive result it had led to. TV's and all that bs has led our kids in this country to be obese and very unhealthy. Get um outside and they will be much happier and healthier-- sorry for the long piece-- neded to get it out .

My wife doesn't really care about the S-10 or the money I put in it. She does get kinda jealous sometimes when I stay out late a few nights in a row. Exspecially when the guys are over too. But she does go the the races with me and helps out. But it's probably because of my 3 year old. He loves the race cars!

G/F has a times made a comment, "The other woman!" But for the most part she ok with it. If she wasn't cool with the truck, Id woundn't quit it. I dont quite love my truck and much as I do her! Thats the important part!

well for the love for all that is holy don't marry her then - it will all change!!!!! Just string her along. A wise man once told me: "a man finds a great woman and hopes she never changes, a woman finds a man she thinks has potential, then spends the rest of thier lives trying to change him."

The moment she gets a ring on her finger - Mr Hyyde will appear - mark my words.

Really? Im sorry you guys have like that! I've been with this chick for now going on 6yrs. Im set in my ways, and she knows that if I start something, that goes for anything I do. I dont half ass it! She respects me and the things I do, just as I do her! But I guess married folks are different. I hope for our well being together, this dont change.

I know alot of men have this problem. Im not with this gal for a mother, I alrealy have one!

I told her up front, If there something I have planned Im doing it. Dont ever tell me that Im not doing something, because now you just dared me to! And Im really doing it now!! And I wouldn't ask her the same!

I got the milk for free, for a long time with out buying the cow! But I love this woman, If she wouldn't respect me, Id already took that train out of here.

For example, Heather is a Chef. In the last 3 years, She has worked up in Katmai National park, Alaska. As a chef at a fly in trout fishing logde. She loves to fly fish, hunt the samethings I do.

Makes good money, got to meet some Famous people. Name one, Larry Zonka '72 Dolphins undefeted Super bowl star. She's gone for 5 months! Been tough for me, but I realized that she loves her job. Plus I get to travel up there every year!
And I wouldn't want her to not be happy. Im not saying that I ok with all the time, but I love her. So I think with that, my hot rods are ok. And YES Im happy to say that this is her last year up north. Getting hitched next spring!

Ok, Im stepping down for my SOAP BOX! :soapbox:
