I've been lurking around on the site for a while now, gathering info and slowly building a pile of parts, guess its time to formally intoduce myself and the project. My names Ryan and I've got an 02 S10 and a 350 mated to a NV3500
going into it. I got the max conversion kit off the site and everything is moving along very quickly now.

I'm building the truck for pretty much just a street truck for now it will eventually turn into more of a drag truck but I'm goin to college full-time right now and working as much as possible to pay for this.

The truck was a parts hauler for napa and only had the 4cylinder in it, but it came with 3.73 gears, no a/c, or power anything really. Now I've got the motor and trans out and I've cleaned the hell out of the engine area and underneath. Then painted the frame and other stuff underneath the truck so its looking pretty good (except for the massive hole where the engine is supposed to be).

The 350 I have is out of a 89 pickup, it was remanned about 8,000 miles ago. All I'm putting on (for now) it is a Holley carb and a nice intake, plus some chrome dress-up parts. Right now I'm just finishin with the motor and cleaning up a few things with the transmission. Soon I'll hook those two together and start doing some test fitting.

Welcome to the site!
Mine was a 4 cyl too. My test fit went quick. I had some header clearance with the upper control arms at first then I raised the motor in the back and it worked. Use the upper set of mounting holes.

Cut the tab off of your rear crossmember spin it around the other direction raise it about 3 inches with some scrap metal and weld it back on. Worked well for me.

I feel bad. Everyone here asks for pics and I don't even have one of my truck.

You are cooler than me. At least you have a digital camera.

Do you work for NAPA?

I've been movin a little slow on getting the pics up in my gallery but I'm working on it.
Well I spent my day off workin 9-5 on the s10.....
The motor and transmission are setting in place. HOLY MOTHER O PEARL that was a tight fit. I had to set the motor on the lower holes of the bracket to avoid smashing the mount into the frame on startup.

The trans crosmember was not right the metal part of the mount was hitting the crossmember but I ended up throwing a whole bunch of spacers and raised it up enough so that wasn't an problem.

After getting both the motor and trans setting properly I put on the pass header to see about clearance and saw that the firewall beneath the heater box needed some hammering. Other than those items it went nicely. Now Im back to research and parts hunting. I don't work for Napa, but I wish I did sometimes.

As others have said Welcome! This site has a plethora of helpful threads. If it weren't for this particular site, I would never even try this engine swap!

Well I got it to fire today as long as I've got someone else dumping fuel down the carb. Took me a little bit to get the timing right, but even though it only ran for a couple seconds it was a beautiful sound. Got some new pics coming a little later
