i know alot of you strip guys have metal dashes made for your trucks and im wanting some pics or possible patterns.
im stretching a 36 chevy truck dash and then im gonna fill in the middle and make filler pieces to make it look "like it belongs" i threw in a pic of my dash for a idea of what im doin.
im thinking of cutting the dash in the center setting it apart however far i need it to fit against the cab edges tack up a frame and then fill in the middle.after that fill in between the windshield and dash and a nice cover of somesort for the steering wheel column just wanting to see what some of the stuff you guys have or some better ideas than i have to get me going in the right direction

Don't have a metal dash for pics but I have 'sculpted' stuff like that before. My suggestion is before you cut it, make a duplicate of the center for a template to 'fill' the cut out spot betweem the original panels.

The way I did it was measure between the roll cage and make a center point. then measure where the steering shaft was going to be and go from there i used autometer for all my gauges so it worked out good. I can unbolt my dash in like 15 min def. take the time to do it right it is so worth it in the long run.!!!!!

i should have mentioned the middle with the holes for headlight switch and whatnot are being removed im gonna smooth it out and put in a nice switch panel for lights, fans, ignition switch, etc. im gonna try and do as little modifying to the holes for the gages as possible and make the glovebox a glovebox maybe stick some extra gauges in there. thats a nice dash grim thats prettymuch what im goin for but i gotta make some sorta column cover to "clean" it up not to much mind it is a ratster so we'll see what i get into gotta freakin warm up before i can do anything no heat in the shop

I watched them make a dash on two guys garage and they make it look so easy. take a lot of measurements and plan it out and cut once
I made my own dash. Here are some pics of it.

Space.this sounds like the way to go.That dash will definately look cool.Make a template!maybe two or three, different styles. After I got it welded together,I wouldn't cover it.It's too cool looking!I'd straighten it out, block it paint it and buff the crap out of it.
