I bought a 1993 S-15 Jimmy with a 4.3 vortec. Originally, I was going to leave the 4.3 in it, but am having so many problems, besides a abs brake problem, that I think it really deserves a v-8. I have a 350 tbi motor on my the engine stand that im thinking about using. So, here are my questions. Will the 350 mount up to the automatic transmission that I have? What about the motor mounts? Will the radiator have to be replaced with a bigger one? Ive done two v-8 conversions in the past, but they were both on mid 80 models. One with a 4 cylinder and one with a 2.8. I changed engines and transmissions in both of them and went carburated.

use your tbi motor with a custom harness to take the place of the stock cpi unit. the trans is a 4l60e and can be used aslong as the new ecm and harness are programmed for it. the rad can be used as well. this will be cheaper then a new trans and a good intake and carb. you still need the 2.8 frame mounts and swap mounts. good luck and keep us posted.

Is the best place to get the headers and the motor mounts here at the s10 parts store? I think the last time, I found some parts on ebay. I had an extra set of mounts, but have since moved and have no idea where they are now.Maybe someone here has some used parts.
Where would I get the harness?

Hey Terry, I'm wondering what you have. Do you have the CPI motor, that would be the W in the vin # 8th character. Here are some questions back for you to help in you make some good decisions. The 93 blazer you are wanting to convert has a 700r4 with VSS. VSS is vehicle speed sensor. This is what is fed to the computer or drake which buffers the signal than feeds it to the signal. I found a universal standalone harness. This harness does not have the torque converter lock up wiring with it. You can use part of the original wiring to make that work. http://larryselectricsite.com/tbi.html is the one I found. I have use one of their harnesses before and satified with the workmanship. A harness for $275 is not a bad deal. You would still need a computer and the prom chip that would work with the V8. If you have the CPI injection, you have a 60# fuel pump. This maybe a little much for the TBI. The TBI motor on the stand is probally in long block form and no intake and or throttle body. There is another way. You can find a donor truck with TBI and get the computer, harness, and intake with all the fuel lines and equipment needed for your swap. You can merge your trucks wiring harness to the TBI harness to get the gauges on the dash to work. To make this happen, you will need the wiring diagram from both trucks, your and the donor. There is a lot to think about to make a wise decision and not having to buy twice. Good Luck!!
