Hi all, I have a couple quick questions. I did a truckload, no pun intended, of searching but couldn't find the specific answers to my questions. Firstly I have just aquired an 89 S-10 Blazer 2WD with the 4.3. I have a 355 already to drop in. I want to use the 2.8/stealth mounts to install it.

1. Does this setup work with any longtube headers, ie:Hooker/Hedman?
2. Does this setup move the tranny at all in the vehicle necessitating shortening/lengthening the driveshaft, etc?
3. How much work is required to run the fenderwell headers on a street driven truck.

I want to have the ability to replace a part, ie: motor mount with the off the shelf parts if i'm out on the road and have a problem. I looked at the TransDapt kit but I don't want to make the frame mods. The ability to put the truck back stock down the road is very nice. I'm looking for future compatibility as I want to eventually put roller motor in it. I know this is a bit like wanting my cake and eating it to but it has been a dream a long time in the making and I want it right the first time.

PS: I don't have the conversion manual yet, but I do plan to get it asap. Does it address any of these concerns with regards to currently available parts, etc. The manual is quite dated as I recall.

Once again, thanks for ya'lls help.

Welcome.I agree w/Hardin.upgrade.When I bought the Heddman long tubes,I bought the suggested Transdapt mounts.Big mistake.moved motor up & back.Had hei,had to replace it,too close to firewall,& had to get the driveshaft cut(again).Had to cut the support on the inside of my cowl hood, but there was no frame mods.I'd buy the mounts from this site.Ive talked to alot of guys on this site & they work.Dont know if they'll work w/long tubes, thats why i bought the trans-dapts.

We've had the Trans-dapt discussion before, I was wondering has anyone done a comparison on the Trans-dapt mount and the mounts sold here or by JTR? I have the ones sold by JTR and from pictures I've seen they look almost exactly like the Trans-dapt mounts. :hammer:

I'm pretty sure i'm just gonna build my own motor mounts after all. The ones on here will not work with conventional long tubes and I refuse to use shorties do to long term plans. I do NOT want to "rebuild the wheel" later on. I'm thinking something very similiar to the Trans-Dapt setup, but without the GM parts, essentially a solid mount mount with poss. a 1.5" poly leafspring bushing. Should take up considerably less room and be a lot cheaper on the wallet. Thx for the help guys!
