Comp. Eng. kit from Summit. The tuff part was the 2x3 tubing from the rockers to the frame. Doesn't leave alot of leg room in a reg. cab truck. The instructions were excellent though. I like it.

Did the kit come with the two extra vertical bars out near the hoop or did you add them?
td7172
02-20-2009, 01:20 PM
The kit came with the extra bars, but those are tuff angles to cut where they meet the hoop and main crossbar.

You know, I watched pinks all out the other night. It was a rerun when the blue s-10 won.He was running mid to upper 10 sec. Don't you have to have the bars going out the back window down to the frame running that fast?

The column is not stock, came with the truck. I bought the roller. The dash comes back from the middle of the winshield approx. 9". All made out of sheet metal.
Looking good! Did you build that dash or have it built? Keep the pics coming!

Built it ourselves, my dad and I. He bent the material, then put it in th truck, capped the ends welded and painted. Alot of fun having my dad help. He used to drag race back in the 80's and misses it alot. He is into show cars now, cost to much to show, more fun to just go!!!!

My dad was the same way. When I was building my truck he kept saying I shouls show it instead of race it. But when I took him for a pass (6.99 @ 100.6) he changed his mind. He is now back into racing. lol

I have an updated video in the video section, just look under need more videos. Like it says, she's wired and fired! Fuel pump leaks, but so far, that's the only problem.
Congrats on getting it fired up! Sound good. Makes all that hard work payoff when you hear it for the first time!!

Fuel wasn't the only problem, distributer was also a pain in the _ _ _. I think that's taken care of, laid a couple 30 footers in the driveway. Wife is pissed. Ha Ha!!!!! Hopefully finding a trailer and test and tune in the coming couple weeks.

Hey guys, been awhile, but alot of things going on. About a month ago, found out I might have colon cancer. Have a large tumor in my colon.Surgery sched. for Sept. 1st, then I'll find out for sure. Good news, I scored a trailer so it looks like test and tune Sat. the 22nd. Will be nice to get some pics and time slips for you guys. Then hopefully do some work later this winter. Thinking about putting her on the street. We'll see what happens.
