Man that Merc needs to be dropped, channeled, and have the top choppped. Cortez Silver is a killer color. Oh wait that was my take on the Merc. Can't wait to see some more on it!

I agree Hardin, but this one might be the last one in captivity that aint chopped, channeled, etc! The guy buying it wants it the way it is,he says it'll be "different"He wants it black.I think its gonna look like an old cop car.Maybe I'll surprise him & paint the doors white.lol

Love the ol' Merc. I don't blame him. I'd leave it alone too. Nice to see one that's been left alone for a change. Want to see the finished product.!

no i did it at the end of season but got it done in a couple of weeks. that is when all my wheel hop problems started. i think it never ends. all last summer i delt with tranny problems from going to the 700r4 from the 350 why can't we just leave them alone when we get a good set up?

I so feel your pain. I'll take a pic of "myspace" tomorrow. It's depressing. My daughter's room is bigger than my area to fix the vehicle. I can't open my beer fridge's door all the way cuz it'll hit my quarterpanel.
It's PRIME TIME!I know its been a while, havent had time to work on this stuff.Work kinda been getting in the way.I should thank God we're busy, the way things are around the country.Anyhoo we're one step closer on a couple things. The Merc is in final primer,I hope. We're starting to get stuff done on the S10 motor.Got the block clearanced for rods, miced everything. It's no wonder good stuff is expensive. That Wiesco crank is DEAD NUTS PERFECT!Every journel, rods, mains, perfect.Talked to Tom at K1 today about ring gaps,he said "spray it till the cows come home,it'll be fine."Someone was asking what I did about the crossmember & longtube headers, and I remember Harleyboy saying whatever's easier for you.So I took his advise. We had 1/4" angle, sectioned some in.Worked great.Anyway, heres some pics.

Hey, the old Merc looks good! Your shortblock is really nice & the crossmember turned out nice. Keep up the good work. Send more pics!
Thanks guys.Progress is slow.Need heads, and just dont have the cash right now to get what I want,Hate to choke the motor with what I can afford now.So I'll just wait.
Fineally got some time to work on the Merc. The S10's together and running.Pics are Merc in DP09LF.I'd leave it this way,put it together, some wide whites, red wheels, dog dish hub caps and trim rings, lake pipes, etc.but he wants it gloss black.

Hell yeah! Retro lead sled! But what the customer wants, is what he'll get!
Phil, your one hell of a body man! Wish I lived in your town! I'll be knocking on your door!!:p
so whats up with the V8 powered import? need pics. LOLNo new pics,ZR1.Kid has some from the track, but I guess its not important for him to get them over here so I can post'em up.Its running 10.90's and its mothballed till we cage it.Now he got a 68 Camaro BBC,it needs alota work.So I guess the Evil Talon is gonna fall by the wayside unless the Camaro isnt ready for race season next year. Then in the spring I guess there'll be a thrash to get a cage in the Talon. How's the Mazda coming along?

its coming but slow. ran my fuel lines. -8 feed -6 return the crossover tube from rail to rail was also converted to -8 line. got my pump in and everything buttoned up. got my 58mm throttle body, still need to do turbo headers. running into problems on how they will be made and mounted. i am using the serpintine set up and trying to keep heat and A/C in the car so space is getting tight. but i think i have it figured out. still waiting on money owed to me and trying to get that 98 s10 done and out of my garage. money has been tight for the guy so getting things moving on that s10 are slow which in turn slows me down as i only have a single car garage.

steering geometry is awsome. i havent had to move the shaft the rack nothing. with the grannys kit it clears all. the problem is trying to stuff the turbos, down pipes, oil drain lines headers, and huge 50mm wastegates all in an area that had a 13b. LOL i do have a few pics.

LOL i do have a few pics.Thats your proverbial 10 pounds of sh*t in a 5 pound bag.I see what you mean.Kinda looks like the Talon. It has those Stahl 2"primary equal length headers that take up half the engine bay.I'll get after the Kid to get some pics here.Is that your 327?

yep. fresh overhaul. had the block boiled and honed. then went back in with the 9.6.1 pistons with new hell fire rings (went with off the shelf the re ringed it again) new cam, rod and main bearings, custom turbo cam, and then the .074 cometic gaskets. brought my comp down to 8.6. the only down fall is the cheaper heads which are pro comp aluminum 210s with 2.05/1.60 valves and angle plugs. i know they wont flow as good as a set of AFRs or brodix but being forced induction they dont need to. hot rod mag did a test on these heads with a ford 302 and made a best pull at like 485 at the crank and that was with the 190cc heads so i feel good about doing the 500-550 rwhp im looking for.

I dont know how I end up with these, but when the collision slows down(like now),I'm glad they're here. The Model A is 80 years old,and pretty nice. The amazing part is,the owner is older than the car!God bless him,he's getting it done for his son and grandson. These were taken this morning. Its now ready to go into the booth and get some DP.The fenders, running boards and all the interior pieces are done. The doors, hood, fuel tank, and deck lid are in primer, and ready to be blocked again.
The Firebird is a '68.The present owner bought it brand new.He watched it being built.Dated his wife in it,watched his kids grow up in the back seat.Got it restored at a "restoration specialist",and they pretty much ruined it.They were supposidly getting padlocked and going bankrupt and he had to get it out of there before it got locked inside, and that would have been big problems..Its now our job to try to straighten it out.Its a 350 H.O. 4 speed convertable. The only one Ive ever seen with a power seat. The coil springs arent seated, and it sounds like a jackass goin down the road. When we got it,the doors would not close.Everything was out of wack.Nothing is lined up,and the sub frame is in there crooked. Its starting to blister already...well,you guys get the idea.We got our work cut out for us,and everyone knows what its like goin over someone elses work.

i still want to see pics of that Talon. i decided to take all my income tax returns and finish my 7. no more waiting. i am so close so its getting done. rims and tires with my bonus leather seat from my wife for Xmas and then the turbo hot side and all other odds and ends at income tax.

As some of you know, the Kid bought a 68 Camaro project.Thought Id put up some pics of the progress It'll be strip, some street.452 in. twin turbo BBC.Theres a blue cowl induction hood hanging on the wall with black stripes.Thats what color it'll be.
