I have a 1995 s10 with the 2.2 and the crappy a/t that now needs replaced for the second time in 120,000 miles, i have a 430 hp '72 small block and turbo 350 that i was going to put in the 1953 1/2 ton chevy that i am now selling. i have learned that i can put the engine in my s10 (makes sense after thinking about the 4.3 being a V8 with 2 cylinders cut off it) fairly easily, but i have found nothing on the transmission. can the turbo 350 be put in using the same cross member as the 4l60e without cutting and welding and such. i have a shortage of cash and putting the v8 and th350 in my s10 could be much cheaper (and would definatly be more fun) than having the 4l60e rebuilt, please help

you can definitely put the engine and tranny in, depending on your setup will determine what mods have to be done to the cross members, i pulled my cross member and took it to a shop to be modified and it didn't cost much. It seems that the largest cost is the cooling system, there are some good threads on the site that will give you a lot of info, I always mention check your state emissions laws and either obey or have a good friend as a inspector. If you are like most of us you just won't give a S#$^.
