I have a 94 s10. I sold the original 4 cylinder along with the complete engine harness and computer with motor.

I wondering if my gauges will still work without the computer? And what wires do i need the come into the engine bay on the driver side of the truck?

Thanks

Not sure but I would not think they will work without the har and comp. I kept everything and just tracked down the wires to the sensors that I needed. Everything works great, except the speedo.

They told me at O'riley that I could get an adapter for the th350 that would covert it from mechanical to electric. About 90.00 just haven't got it yet.

i am doing a 1997 and i was told without the ecm the guages will not work , not swearing to it but just what i was told by local dealership . i guttted my wiring and used my own guages made plates to mount in place of old cluster . put my lights on toggle switches . no wipers . my truck is for strip .

Well I went thru all the wiring on my 95 2.2 yesterday. I printed out all the wiring diagrams that i needed, since we have mitchell ondemand at work. U will not need the ECM at all. On mine the oil pressure had three wires two going to the ECM one going to the gauge and I cut the wire for the gauge, Then the temp sensor had two wires and cut the one for the guage, then the one for the volt was only a single wire coming out of the pigtail for the alt. for the volt meter. Now all the wires for the guage go to a connector that is right about the power brake booster. Then I cut the rest of the wires off the engine side of the connector with a lead just in case I missed something. On that connector there was two fat wires one is ground and the other was for the starter. I noticed that the starter wire and the rest of the wires going to the trans where cut at redone the wrong way. The next thing I did was that the wire harness going thru the right side of the firewall for the ecm I cut all the wires there besides the wires for the blower resister and relay. Then the rest of the wires on the right side are cut and have at least 2 worth of lead. This next week I will tow my truck back to work and take those wires out from the inside and delete the wires going to the ecm and take them out with the ecm.

Just like the rest of u guys I amy not for sure what I am going to do for the speedo too since I have a th350.

im having a problem with my 94 s 10 temp gauge after i did a swap from a 4 cylinder to a 454 carb motor. i got my oil pressure, voltage, and fuel gauge working, all running off one wire just like your talking about. i put a 180 degree thermostat in it because there wasnt one to begin with. there is plenty of coolant and i also put a new temp sensor in. i still have nothing. what can i check next? i left the green wire on the plug. any ideas?

yeah i used the one out of the cylinder. its a new one and im not sure whats going on. i took the wire out of the plug and touched it to a ground and my gauge jumped. so i know its got something there.

is it a gauge or light ..first have some one ground the green wire to see if the gauge will move if it does move then its the senser..if it does no move then its the gauge ..on that year of truck they had a temp secser for the computer (black and yellow)2 plug style..and the single green..the single is for the dash..
