this is for you creative minds out there! i recently replaced my engine drivin flex fan in leiu of a 3.8 taurus fan... then just today i was offered a chance to buy a weiand 144 blower and 700 cfm carb for 2000- i want this so badly... so i open the hood and evaluate that there is no more than .25 inches between the water pump pulley and the back of this fan. so thoughts to self- shorten and modify the taurus fan to sit closer to the radiator? try to move the radiator/fan around a little? try to some exotic pulley ordeal? try to run existing (v) belts to a modified supercharger pulley? move the radiator even farther into the core support (if even possible?) forget about it? (dont tell me this)... i mean i have access to machinery such as lathes saws and such so one way or another its gotta go in! p.s. i would like to keep the electric fan cuz it works so well. just seeing if anyone has a bright idea or has actually done it- or any of my (30 minutes of pondering) ideas?

first is there any movement left engine wise? What are the dimensions of the Taurus fan? Some of the other dual electric aftermarket fans pull good air and are reasonably thin. Can a short snout be ordered for the supercharger?

If you want to get creative, make your own shroud. Take the Taurus out it's shroud and make a shroud that allow the fan to sit off to one side. Do what FORD did, just farther over.

scrap the tauris fan and gowith dual pusher fans and pt them on the front of the radiator. or put the taurus fan on the front and reverse the wires the the motor turns the opposit direction. i dont have a taurus fan so i dont know how "deep" it is might have to modify the grill. just an idea

A Taurus fan is about 4-4.5" thick.

Don't know your exact situation,
but is it possible to offset the fan left or right? I had that situation once..... and since I'm a regular "Mr. symmetrical" it took me a while to realize that simply offsetting the fan/shroud gave me the clearance I needed.

I have that blower in my s10 and the blower belt cleared the radiator but I could not add the needed fan spacer cause my flex fan would hit the radiator. So If I were you I would run my electric fans in front of the radiator, or you could notch out the radiator support a lil. Thats what I did but now I wish I would have used electric fans in front of my radiator and left the radiator support alone. You can see how i did mine kind of in the video I posted in the video section " Start up and walk around " . Good luck

I would definately use a PULLER fan because they work better and the blower will make extra heat in the engine. If need be, cut the radiator support and do what you have to. Fab some brackets, use some light weight square tubing and make a new radiator support if need be, but don't screw up your hood latch positioning.
