Someone please tell me where that little frigging wire is on an 89 blazer that you have to unplug to set the timing on the 4.3. I am sure I am just over looking it. My truck seems to have a bad hesitation when you take off from a stop, like its trying to load up,then it catches and goes. figure its the timing, just got the truck so haven't checked all the ignition parts yet either..

Terry you never did say what the seat would cost. Now I have a leak in my radiator seems to stop when the water gets hot. So guess I will need to find another radiator or get this one fixed..yuck

The wire is inside the truck. Open the passenger door and lift the carpet in the footwell under the dash. You will find a single tan wire that has a connector.
If you are having a hesitation, you need to check your TPS. The TPS has 3 wire on it. The Black is ground, the Gray is 5 volt reference, and the Blue is the return to the computer. The TPS can be tested with the key in the run position with the engine off. You need to get a paper clip or some other thin metal to reach inside the connector from the back side while still connected to the sensor. You need a volt meter and some patients. The voltage at the blue wire should only be about 0.5 volts at idle. As you open the throttle, The voltage increases to the max 5 volts at WOT. If this is good, you need to replace the Map sensor. The Map sensor senses the load on the engine and helps the TPS for the computer to adjust timing . Before replacing the MAP, verify the vacuum to it is good with no broken or damaged lines.

Decided im gonna keep the seats in for now. Someday, if it ever stops raining, you and I need to go to JoeBoys. They have about 30 s-10s there. They have a new guy that is pricing stuff and he is higher than the other guy ( Rick)

I went over there and found out off all those s10 only one manual brake booster and they wanted 35 for it...I think My son has found a good place in Dallas to get parts..Will have to check it out one day...I am thinking of just reupholstering my seat ,as all need it..Also have to find a cheap source for the weather seals and window scrapers...

Well finally found that little wire hiding behind the big bundle of wires... Timing was way of. Still has a little vibration in it but think new wires and such will cure it, runs a lot better and will actually power brake and spin the tires. didn't have the balls to do it before. that is how sluggish it was, not that I power brake, but sure tells you if its running weak.. thanks for the help in locating that dang wire, looked there before I posted asking about it,but didn't see it, had to jerk the big bundle over to find it....keep safe all..
