ran my truck at the track , went from first to second then drive then it just fell on its face at about 1000 ft. I am running stock mech fuel pump pulling through old lines, 750 edelbrock carb maybe 350 hp.

I'd check fuel pressure while under load

When you run out of fuel going down the track the motor shuts off just like you turned a switch and as long as you hold the throttle wide open it will not run. Let off it and it will take back off. I have heard a lot of people say their motor is starving for fuel because it slows down. I don't really think that is possible. Once your bowl(s) go empty you will not get the level back until you stop drawing fuel into the intake. The ratio will be way to lean for the motor to run until the motor is about to quit rotating. If your motor is doing this then you are probably right. You need more fuel. I would suspect the fuel pump or filter tho because your lines should be big enough for what you have.

you pump is not pumping enough fuel man you can get a bigger pump for it and/or a electric pump so there is no starving the motor.

Might also check valvesprings or valve adjustment

Thought the valves could be a problem, but i ran it to about 6000 rpm in 1 st and2nd lost power at 4500 to 5000 IN DRIVE.

Nice tank! Something i forgot to mention my mech pump has a port for the return line! Maybe i should just plug off the port and fuel line.
