I have a leak where my speedo gear assembly goes into the side of my tranny. It appeared to me that tha tab that holds it in place had came loose, probably from vibration. There's two threaded connections. One where the cable threads into a black plastic piece, then that threads into the gear assembly. It also appered that it could have been leaking from both those connections, but could have been from the original leak. Shouldn't there be some sort of rubber seal, or O ring to prevent leakage???? The only O ring I saw was in the speedo gear assembly. I thought maybe I coul use some thread sealent, or is there any type of teflon tape I can use?

After further inspection I figured out what I was wrong. Im an idiot!!! No trans fluid flows past the speedo gear housing, that is why there is no seals where the speedo cable threads to the bullet. Oh well everybody has got to start somewhere!

Glad you got a handle on it. We've all been there before, only stupid question is one you don't ask! :headbang:
