Hello I just recently decided to do the swap. I am wondering what problems arise and what all is really needed to do it. I have a 1987 s10 with a 2.8 v6 and two wheel drive. Im going to put a 305 bored .60 with 350 heads and a turbo 400 transmission. i have the basic idea of what to do i was just wondering of problems people ran into.

cooling, clearance, exhaust, driveshaft, are the usual questions, a lot of small stuff, pay for a membership and you can communicate more than once a day, these gentlemen are a great help, but if you cant ask, we can't answer. As for the swap it all depends on you and your experience, buy the book from Mike here on the site, its a good guideline, but, take your time and do it right so you don't pay twice the money going back and redoing in the end.

Welcome to the site first off and enjoy your truck second and thrid do you have a ext cab or standard cab that's the question, mine is a 87 ext cab and my only real problem was the exhaust clearance between the motor and the frame the rest was minor stuff, that comes with the conversion. we will try to answer you questions as good and close as possible.

Welcome to the best S10 swap site, S10V8.com! :icon_wave: Each swap will have its own unique obstacles, but cooling and exhaust usually top the list. It all depends on what your intended purpose for the truck is, strip, street/strip, or street only. Where you position the engine, high/low or front/rear. Its really a test fit thing. The Swap manual is a good read, it will let you know what your in for and covers most common problems and offers suggestions. But, I dare to say there is more hands-on experience here to help out with any problems you will encounter. Just dive in and yell when you hit a snag. :headbang:
