Right now I have a TH-350 trans. It's an '89 S10 with a 350 block in her. Shorty headers which I plan on going full length with 3" pipes. The truck was originally a stick before the 350 was dropped in so it'll make it a little easier to install a stick. But to be honest I don't know the first thing about switching from automatic to stick. What would I need to do? I'm sure I'll need a new driveshaft. But like I said I seriously don't know the first thing about going to a stick. I pretty much know a 350 inside and out for I've built numerous engines, but I've never messed with transmissions. Will I need a new flexplate? New anything? Can somebody PLEASE help me. I'd really appreciate any help I can get from people that know more about what they're doing if they've gone through this.

Theres a list. 1st I would goto a pick and pull and rip out a set of clutch pedals and linkage. 2 reasons 1 for the parts and 2 for the knowledge. THis way you will seee wher the parts came from and will have to be installed on your truck. You should be able to get a nv3500 and the rest of the parts from the same truck.

Also dont forget about the bushing that goes in the crank for the input shaft and you will also need flywheel not a flexplate. Do you still have the slave cylinder and linkage/ pedals in the truck since it was a stick before? I believe that the getrag 5 spd came in your year truck. I think the NV3500 didn't make it in to the s-truck till the early 90's which for manuals the nv3500 is better than the getrag from what I have seen.

your best bet is a NV3500. get everything from the donor truck. trans, stick, master, slave, lines, and resevor. get the pedals if you need them, get the clutch assembally. pressure plate, clutch disc. after you have all that your set. what you will need to determine is the engine/trans combo. if you have a 1 pc seal block you can use the flywheel that is on the donor truck. if you have a 2pc seal block you will need to get a flywheel that will bolt to your crank and still be able to be used with an 11 inch clutch. (NV3500 uses an 11" clutch) there are other minor details but you should be able to figure it out from there.
