I have a 4l60e crossmember in my 97 2wd s10 blazer. I was wondering if there was a shorter transmission mount so I won't have to shorten my crossmember.
I've been researching the t56 swap and it looks to me if I could find a transmission mount
1-1/4 shorter than stock my crossmember wouldn't need major surgery. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Did I not make myself clear?
Oh well does anyone have a schematic or drawing I can use to modify my crossmember. I'd like to get this done before my transmission comes in. So I don't have to stop the installation to work on that.

I have an 85 s10 with the t56 and I usd the stock crossmember. I had to move it back a couple of inches. and I mounted the tranny on the tube part of the crossmember and cut the bracket off that held the stock tranny. on top of the tube I made a couple of slits with my die grinder the same width of the tranny mount and then hammered it flat. I then drilled a hole in the bottem of the mount to get the nut through and tighten it down. it was pretty easy.

Was your stock crossmember for an auto or a manual. I'm not totally clear on the bracket you cut off. You cut it off of the transmission?
