why is my alt and pos.side of batt. getting so hot? i burned up one alt already and now my starter took a crap..........im running my serp from 4.3 and 4.3 alt and 4.3 starter, any ideas..........o and my truck wont stay running prob cus of no volts.....

follow your wiring, you have to have something shorting out somewhere, id check between the battery and starter and then from the starter to the truck

Put some safety glasses on. If that battery blows up in your face, it will put your eyes out. I've got a friend named Blind Herman that found out the hard way.

well i did some more pokin around and still cant find anything out of place all my grounds are clean and good. im starting to think my fan is drawing to much current i do not have my fan on a relay its just wired in hot at ignition turn key fan comes on.....my fan is out of a mid 90s caddy cts or somthing like that so i dont know how much it pulls.....and my blower motor for heat and ac arent working either im stumped..........sry im to poor right now to buy a prem mem.........truck is killing me with 3 alts now and 2 starters and 2 batts...........this needs to be fixed asap........

it come to find out that my starter was causing feed back to alt and heatin it up.....that problem is all good buti have another problem my truck doesnt like to run longer that 10 15 miles and then when i back off the gas it dies is that a sign of fuel getting too hot?carb might be out of adjustment too idk, idk much about tuning carbs...

i know its a holley 4 barrel man choke i dont know numbers i guess it stock from a 73 vette cus thats where the motor came from.......

how can i tell if my fuel is heating up and shutting down my motor..........
