We got the 383 off the floor and between the fenders today.Got tranny, torque converter, driveshaft & starter bolted up.started putting headers back on.Those trans-dapt mounts made everything harder.Hopefully we can get it wired tomorrow, finish putting headers on,rad, trans cooler, and accessories on.Not that Im complaining, but we've been too busy to do anything on my truck, way down on the priority list, customers come first.I really miss driving it,and since the track is open, its getting worse.Hopefully it'll be running sometime this weekend.Wish I had a vid camera!

hey how come the trans dapt mounts made it harder to install, i ordered some so i can put a v8 in my s10 are there better mounts i can get or wat, let me knowThe transdapt mounts are necessary for Hedman long tube headers(so they say),thats why I used them. They sit the motor smack up against the firewall, and up high. The headers do clear everything, and theres good clearance between the crossmember and the oil pan,but getting to anything on the firewall behind the motor is just plain ignorant.Everyone on here that bought the mounts from this site seems to be very happy with them. They are adjustable, and Im sure that helps.

One step foreward, two behind.Everything on the back of the motor is mashed up against the firewall. You guys with Trans-dapt mounts know what Im talkin about.Had to put my hei back in,my msd dist was lent to a friend, and he's in Fla.Forgot to put oil sender in.Take a bunch of crap back off ot get to that, including dist cap(not as easy as it sounds),couldnt find wire for sender.Rip all the wire loom off, find wire hiding. But we did get everything hooked up but accessories.Thats tomorrow. Now I gotta go to the machine shop where my old heads are.I left my temp sender in one of them.Im just so freakin organizized.

Had a pretty productive weekend.S10 and Evil Talon back on the road and pretty much together.Took S10 for maiden voyage.Only prob was electric fan relay.Wasnt turning fans on,but never went past 200.Didnt pound on it,but rolled into it on a strait away, had speedo back around to 10 mph, felt great.(still has break in oil)Sounds different.Almost like a bbc.Very torquey.Feels great just to drive it again. As for the Talon, got some stearing issues to tend to,(bump stear)but its a freakin animal.Border line uncontrolable.Should be a mid 9 sec na street car if we can get it to launch.Heres some pics of both.Oh,a new (used) SB2 intake the kid's gonna build a motor under, too.Still got some wiring to hide and change, but I just had to take it for a ride.Maybe tomorrow.

pls tell me its awd that is bad as.... was it a hard swapThanks Copley. It was awd,but no room for the 406.It's now rwd,8.8 Ford,4 link, coil over.Lots of fabrication, all home made. Its the kids project,I cant claim much credit. He's worked his butt off on it.He's got a ton of time in it,but not very much money.Alot of thought, and doing things 2 and 3 times, trying to find room for everything, but he did an excelent job.Im proud of him.

Didnt know you could do that. Thanks Chris.Dont know much about forums,or even computers, but I learned something today!Nice truck.Musta ran good, too.I dont know what the deal was with the mounts, maybe cause we followed directions and bolted them in the stock location loose, got everything square and level, then welded them. With the bolts through the crossmember they couldnt go foreward any more, just tilt to make level.

Looks great! Just one thing, you need some bigger solinoids. They look a little small!!

Who's the dude looking at the Talon engine? Looks like a top view of myself 10 years ago before the bald spot!! LOL

LOLYeah,Stroker, they're small, but Ive had that Italian disease, mafunzalo,English translation,my-funds-are-low!I need so much stuff to get it straightened out,but theres always someone in my pocket. If I had the money,I dont even know what i'd buy first. The guy leaning over the fender(without the tatoos?) is the Kid,Jim.He's pondering steering problems.
