i have got to get traction. my friend has a 02 mustang GT that I KNOW i can beat if only i can hook and stay hooked. I have been debating on wether or not to just spool the stock rear with 373s or build a 9". Im not looking to tub it either. Any suggestions for a rear end? what would be cheaper? Also looking for full posi. drivability isn't a concern

the 8.8 is a good choice there isn't a lot of mods to do.

8.8 is a good choice. Ham1974 had one cut to length axels and all for around 500.00.

it would cost a bit for the 9" but you can get everything made to fit, jegs even has a 9" kit for S10's, but they arrent cheap

Changing rear ends will not give you traction. There are other things needed.

First thing is-- how much power do you think you have?--Depending on that, you may just posi the rear you have -- some of the guys on here have beaten 7.5 7.8 rears to death and they lived quiet a while. 8.8 would be a good choice
