By stud to stud, you mean the axle flange, or end of studs?
Because my rear is 51" from flange to flange, stock S-10 rears are about 54". And strangely enough, mine is an 8-3/4 Mopar rear.

I've got stock wheel wells and frame, problem is I have to use about a 2-1/2" backspace on an 8" rim to center the tire in the wheel well. That's an odd backspace requirement.

Messing with the bed and/or wheel wells won't help one bit without frame work. The frame is the problem, you'd need to kick in the frame rails or do a whole back-half job to get mega-tires under the truck. You might be able to squeeze in 12 inch tires if you get the backspacing exactly correct. But you could do that with or without a narrow rear.

But if you do a backhalf job....... the good news is you might have the right rear!

My rear is 50" from axle face to axle face. I have a 15x10 rim and 3 1/2 back spacing. Tire is a 29x10" slick it measures 12" from sidewall to sidewall. I have a 1/4" between the leaf spring and the tire with no bed or frame mods.

Is that enough info?

Bakas, is your truck a strip only? I only ask because I am curious to know how much space is needed between the leaf spring and the tire if I plan on driving it everyday. I was under the impression that I would need at least a solid inch of clearence, but I want to get as much tire as possible behind it.

yeah its race only, I dont think you will have any problems on the street though. My tires have never rubbed with only 10 psi in them. If you want to play it safe mabey keep it 1/2" away.

Normally you wouldn't need a whole lot of clearance to the leaf spring. Like Bakas said, half inch should be OK....

It's the frame rail that would require a solid inch or more clearance for the street. I've seen a shiny spot now and then on the very top of my frame rail. The frame clearance on top isn't easy to measure, so I made a bunch of wood blocks of varing thicknesses on a table saw.... like go / no-go gauges.

Obviously important to clean off any bolts or sharp edges from the frame rail regardless of clearance.

I havent had it to the dyno with the new motor, but it runs 10.50's and 60 foots at 1.44, a little slow for me :icon_razz:

It hooks like a bad mamma jamma, I cant even break the tires loose any more. If I had the money id hit it with a 250 shot. But ill tell ya it wasn't easy to get it to hook as good as it does now lol. Lots of trial and error :icon_wink:

Nah I dont care, its nothin special lol. Stock frame rail obviously lol, ford 9" with 456 gears, only 2 stock leaf springs on both sides, c.e. drag shocks set at 70/30 and slide-a-links. Thats about it lol any thing else?
