Did you try moving the column over at the firewall? That'll help a little.

should be able to move it on the firewall like said above^^ gives you just enough room
or the hammer to the headers a bit always works too :D

Doing a 5.3 as well. Mine is that tight too. The steer shaft clears good. Im reworking the cross member this weekend. Oil pan hitting! I think if I do the cross member, I'll have enough room to slide the motor forward. Im going to have to cut my heater box and fiberglass it, and upgrade to a smaller brake booster too. I have the same headers, not coated like yours, but mine clear fine. Just have to get the shoe horn out!:D
Good luck!

Mines out of a Silverado as well. The p/s lines fitting's worked fine. As for the pump clearance, Im not sure yet. I planned to do the cross member over the weekend, but my welder friend didn't show! So, I don't know if if the pump will clear the box enough. I just need to break down and buy a welder! Tired of counting on buddy's! Soon as I get the shit done, I'll post some pictures. Hate being at a stand still. C'ya later!

For the time being. I'm running a TH350. I have a new built up on the bench. Manual body, green clutches, shift kit. with a 2500 stall. Have to use a billet adapter for the fly wheel. Besides that, should work fine!:)

looks good! I was leaning toward a 4l60e but I have a 700R4 from my gen 1 that freshly rebuilt but have been told its around 700 to convert it to fit??.........how much work is involved and cost to do an Billet adapter..............or will I be able to use for my 700R4

not sure if the 700 R4 is diff from the 4l60E. I dont think there is much. You have to dig on that subject. I know that the th-350 and 400 are too short on the bellhousing to reach the crank. Thats why you I need the adapter. Hey, check out 400rapter.com. They show that part and have lots of other neat stuff too. Taker easy bro, and good luck!

There are a bunch of firms offering adapters.... I think GM even markets a kit..... flywheel bolts & adapter.
