I have a 1988 S10 Blazer 4X4, With a 383 pushing 400hp. I have been replacing stock rears like crazy and i need something that will hold up. Do i have to get something made by Moser or Currie? or is there a stock rear end out of something that will bolt in and be the correct width?? Any info will help.

I do know the 8.5 from a 70's camaro/firebird would fit as for width. However, I believe the spring perchs don't match up. I think you would have to weld a new set of perchs on for it to fit. I have an 8.5 from a firebird that I can mesure. Its in storage and ishould be able to check it Saturday.

8.8 explorer rear should be really close. The explorer rear is about 4" wider than the 2 wheel drive but has about 1/2" wider spring perches. You will have to find some Ford wheels to fit.
