Do i really need to get a better rear end when doing a V8 swap in my S10 or will the stock one do the job
depends on how you drive it
i ran a stock rear for years and years

My understanding: As long as you aren't hooking hard, drag radials/slicks with posi, you should be okay for awhile. Also, it probably isn't good to rely on the 7.5 rear if you're making crazy HP. I plan on running mine through the initial break-in, 1000 miles or so, fairly easy driving. I don't think 425hp would be good on one for long. LOL

Lincoln Locker (welding the rear spider and side gears) is not good at all for street driving. Especially if you don't use a C-clip eliminator kit. If the axle breaks you'll lose the wheel and axle out the end of the housing. Usually resulting in a soon to follow wreck of some kind. The welded rear really increases the loads too much on the stock axles.

You'll be fine, I ran mine for years street/strip with slicks. And if you do break it, you'll have some broken parts to hang on the wall of shame lol. And you can tell all your buddies the motor had too mutch RAW HORSE POWER :icon_razz:
But seriously put a posi in it :icon_wink:
