Lokar Universal Cable+TH350 hookup

I have a Lokar universal speedo cable one with a square end that goes to the speedo and the other end that you cut to fit....its just plain round. My question is how do you hook it up to the TH350? Does it go into the speedo hookup, or does it just press up against the little plastic o-ring thingy.

ensure the speedo gear is in, and the torpedo looking thing with the o-ring, then the square side slips into the gear and tighten the threads, just make sure you don't have any sharp bends anywhere in the cable or it will bind up and break.
