Ok im a noob here and i've started a '96 LT1 swap in my 95 4x4 Blazer. I would like to know if there is anyone here who has a similar setup can give me some pointers as what to do about my wiring if I want everything to work. I have the complete harnesses and computers from both vehicles. Thanks!!!

I also used Current Performance to build my harness. Jared built a plug & play type setup that plugged into engine, PCM and right into the firewall plug of my 86 S-truck.

Here is a link to my Photobucket account with many pics of the swap process:

Thanks for the info guys. I have contacted Jims performance about merging my harnesses and he said it would be about $750 to merge both my harnesses , delete anything I don't need, and reprogram my ecm. Does that sound like a good price, or should I contact Current Performance?

Did the current performance harness have all the hook ups for the gauges and power locks, windows etc... I was wondering if anyone here bought a stand alone harness/ecm for the eng and transmission and used the stock ecm for everything else?

yeah 750 is better than what i paid but i have an 02 which is alot diffrent from older s-10's but yeah the harness had everything, you call him up he will ask you what you are doing with the engine if your using EGR system, AC everything pretty much. all your power locks will work because it will use your original computer and the LT! computer will work the engine only and yeah your gauges will work as well.

Well Current Performance called me back, and so far they are what I'm looking for. They will make a brand new harness from scratch custom to my vehicle, from the engine fans to the tach!!! Little expensive on the ECM programing, I think I'll have to go somewhere else to do that. Harness was more expensive, but I can pay 750 to merge my old harnesses or 895 for a brand new one specific to my truck. Hmmmmmm decisions. Whatcha guys think??

IMHO, pull some wiring diagrams, do some homework, buy some wire, do it yourself and save $700

I bought the gm service manuals from Helm and spliced everything together. It took some time stracing all the wires and splicing but was well worth it. Like redneck said, save your money. I labeled all the wires on the lt1 harness that went into the firewall and the s10 harness that comes out of the firewall and then went to work with the soldering iron. It's not as hard as you think. Just time consuming.

Great minds think alike, I just bought the factory manuals for the S10 and the donor vehicle and laid the harnesses out on the floor and went to work. It does take a little time if you want everything to work right. And you can add or delete what you want as you go. JMHO.
