Alright not sure were to post this but I am going to post it here. My small 4 banger is just about ready to come out. All I have to do is remove the drive shaft, only problem is. I have no idea how? Wondering if someone can tell me how or give me a link to someone explaining how to remove it. Thanks again for everyones help!

Take the retainers off the rear universal joint, usually two 10mm bolts on each side, push the driveshaft yoke forward into the tranny and the rear of the shaft should drop, put a bucket under the rear of the tranny and pull firmly until the yoke slides out of the tranny, wrap the yoke in plastic to keep it from rusting while you do your conversion

I agree with the above, but if you have a two piece shaft you'll need to unbolt the carrier bearing.

Good luck,
Jeff

Forgot to mention to hold the universal caps together on the rear one you take the retainers off so the caps don't ce off and the bearings don't fall out. If you have a large rubber band to wrap around the joint to hold it togetheruse it if not use a soft tape like masking tape so you don't pull it apart when you take the tape off
