junk posi help

took a posi out of a 91 ws6 firebird 7 5/8 rear and put it in my 93 s10 . If i spine the tire only tire spins whats the deal. if you jack up the rear of the truck and turn the wheel both turn at the same thime . in the dirt it pulls posi everytime but that not where I need it . guess I just need to brake down and get a locker right?

what kind of posi is it? clutch style, Zexel, (straight cut worm gears) or a junky gov lock with all the moving parts? that right there will explain the prob.

I have a Gov Lock posi in my S-10.And let me tell you it doesn't work for
sh*t.I am currently building another 7.5 with Moser axles and a spool.Hopefully
this will work a little better.

some gov locks work well some dont? melonhead has a gov lock in his blazer and it works just fine? i have a clutch style LSD i am putting in a 98 S10 and i was going to put a Zexel in the 89 but sold the 89. i still have the Zexel. i have a clutch style LSD in my Mazda.
