What do i need to change if anything. Will the connectors all work like to the Distributor the throttle body and all that. Im aware that i need to change the ECU but if i need to change all the wirring i will just make it a Carb. and be done with it but i would like to run the TBI any help with this i would be very THANK FULL.

I'm in the finishing stages of doing this type of swap to my '95.
I had to modify the wiring harness at the engine a little. It was just to change from the linear EGR valve to a vacuum type. With this I had to get the electric solenoid which actuates the EGR valve and the right connector.
So it should be doable for you as well. I'd get a service manual for your truck and whatever the engine came from. Then you can compare the two underhood wiring diagrams.
I'm going with the Edelbrock TBI MultiPoint Performer injection system. You can use your stock ECM with this along with the Edelbrock piggyback chip.

Friend, Do you have a map of the wiring changes... I have the linear EGR
setup on my 93 s10 TBI 4.3 blazer and I'm putting in a 1988 5.7 TBI. The
5.7 is a two wire setup... the 4.3 is a 3 wire setup.
Also the EST/ESC is a 5 wire in the 4.3 harnss and a four wire in the 5.7..
any :)info per this would also be helpful.
Thank you walt

Sorry I mis-identified my EVRV as a linear EGR.... but I could still use any info per ESC/EST ... any / all help greatly appreciated. Thanks again
walt :)
I have Chilton and Haynes... both have wiring diagrams but seem to
omit the ESC EST wiring.

Sure, let me check the books again so I give the correct wire colors.
Basically there's extra wires you can remove because they're just jumpers from other components.
Another thing is with the 5.7 (at least in the case of configuring it as a '95 1500) is you only need one knock screwed into the block in front of the starter. On the 4.3, the wire for both sensors are just a jumper from one to the other. So I cut the wire going to the driver side sensor and extended the other to reach the starter area.
I'll try to reply to you tonight.

I also noted that the knocks are just shorted together so I am using just one knock for the 350 88 TBI engine.
My current dilemmas are the wiring change from the EGR... the 88 has just a two pin connector... GRY and PNK BLK. The 93 4.3 has a EVRV which has a four pin connector of which 3 pins are used. I think I just need to use the PNK/BLK to the ign/pwr source and the GRY to the ECM and BLK to ground.
Other pending wiring question is the ESC... the 88 has a plug with four pins used...the
93 has a 5 pin connector with all 5 pins used.
I have Haynes and Chilton manuals but the diagrams are rather generic per each year.. They have the EVRV and a EGR solenoid for the 93 but my setup in the 93 engine bay has just the EVRV.
Thanks for any / all help ..... walt

Okay here's the EGR wiring.
You need to use the Pink and Gray wires. You can either trace the third wire back to where it's jumped off of and cut it there or cap the end and tuck into your harness. If you cut it from it's jumper connection which will be a butt connector, don't forget to seal that up with tape or shrink tubing or something.
I'm not sure what an ESC is. Please explain.

I think I have it now....
Per the EGR the wiring diagram for the 88 has EGR and EVRV but
there is very small print identifying that the 5.7 uses the two wire
:)connection ONLY !
SO GRY goes to the EGR control on the ECM
PNK/BLK goes to any switched power source
Per the ESC.... 5 cavity
A empty
B PNK/BLK is the power in wire
C YEL/RED (mine is BLK) goes to the ECM spark control
D BRN is ground
E DK BLU is KNOCK sensor
If you check diagrams let me know what you think per above...
I'm flipping thru web pages, AUTOZONE wiring, Haynes, Chilton...
I wonder if the MTCHELL or ALLDATA subscription sites have better
diagrams ?
Thanks again Walt

YES ESC is electronic spark control... see above note per the pin/wiring.
It detects signals from the knock sensor and retards the timing in the
distributor. The timing module inside my distributor is called the EST...electronic spark timing module. I have the small diameter distributor..external coil.
I have diagram with linear wiring in it if you need it... I can email it to you if
you provide email address. I can also send EVRV and EGR diagram if you
need them.
I had the original wiring harness from the V8 I purchased and FORTUNATELY had labelled all the wires before I started cleaning up the REMANUFACTURED engine. I have really learned a lesson per labeling as one takes stuff apart.
I disassembled the labelled harness on mykitchen table earlier this evening and things started to make more sense.
Also I have digital camera picture of just about every angle and part..
another MAJOR lifesaver !
Thanks again for the help walt:)

I need to learn a bit about flashing the MEMCAL...what is needed..
an interface .. a PC ...and the appropriate info to do the flash.
Any good sources per this stuff.. Thanks walt

That is something your going to have to look into online or have someone that can do it for you.

go to http://www.tbichips.com/ and email Brian about chips
I'm not sure what to tell you about the other ignition pieces you need to wire up. Everything I have is '95, I'm not familiar with earlier stuff.
