http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/1298958740.html

im looking into buying this, i have seen lots of stuff on the ls1 swap, but nothing really on lt1 swap.
i have swapped several s10's to v8's, but never to a newer style motor. only old school two piece main blocks.
my truck currently has a 383 stroker with a nv3500 5 speed.

what all would i need to make this lt1 work in my truck? im getting the whole car.
difference in lt1 and ls1?

any help is greatly aprecciated, i am looking to buy this in less than a week so i need some info fast.

thanks!!!

sorry, looks like i posted in the wrong section, please move if needed!
anyway i have read up quite a bit with our slow a$$ iraqi internet connection.
i see the ls1 and lt1 are completly different motors.
from what i can tell, the mounts and headers i have now should work since a lt1 is based on the old blocks.
here are a few more things i wonder about.

will the camaros fuel pump swap into my tank?

is there a way to do away with the a/c compressor? as i dont need it.
will i still have to notch any of the frame if the ac is relocated or deleted?

will the mounts and headers i have now work with this motor? (they are the 4x4 mounts and headers from this site)

i also have roller rockers on 95 chevy truck heads(non vortech) will these swap over?
also would the centerbolt valve covers the same?

as far as wiring goes, i plan on just pulling the entire harness out of the car and swapping it over. i already have full autometer gauges so i dont need that to work. i may run parts of both harnesses on the truck to make what i need work. i also dont have power anything so thats no big deal.

anything you can tell me about this swap that is different from the carbed v8 swap?
i have done 4 or 5 s10's and blazers now and not scared to cut and hack on my truck.(this is the 4th motor and trans to go in it now lol!)

any tips or tricks?
easy power?
getting rid of emissions crap?
optispark fix?

Grim,
You're correct, regular motor mounts. For headers, you should use the large diameter tubes. I think your 4x4 mounts will work.
Do not know if the fuel pump will snap into your tank, never hurts to try. I simply put a 94 Caprice pump into my 86 s-truck tank. I also replaced all the rubber fuel hoses with high pressure fuel injection hose.

There are A/C delete kits out there: http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/browseproducts/93-95-Camaro-Firebird-AC-Delete-Pulley--1LE.html

Here is one to relocate if you like:http://www.bowersrodshop.com/info_pulley.htm .

For wiring, I paid to have a custom one built from Current Performance. I'm not that good at wiring, not much help there.

Here is my Photobucket page with many pics of my LT1 setup:

Grim, the camaro pump will work. On mine I had a carbed s10 so I had to get a sending unit from a fuel injected s10. the camaro pump hooked right on the end of the sender. the fuel pump plug even fit right on the pump.
I don't know what headers you have but the lt1 has d-port heads so you will have to have the d-port headers.
I used the factory harness as well. I found some gm service manuals from the camaro and s10. the really helped alot. http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r= you might be able to find them on ebay. I spliced all the wires that go into the firewall on the camaro and wires that come out of the firewall on the s10.

yeah it's not as bad as you might think. IT is just time consuming.

thanks, i figured at least a couple weeks to swap it. i did my last one in a weekend, but this wiring is alittle more involved. and i have to drop the damn gas tank again for like the 4th time! thinking of cutting a whole in the floor and making an acces panel.

just take tha bed off until your done. when I have to do anything with the tank, on any truck s10 or not, I always take the bed off ot at leastpick it up or scoot it back. I think it is alot easier than dropin the tank.
