Hey guys,

Would a steering box from a 3rd Gen Camaro work in my '85 S-10? I know a lot of GM steering boxes are swappable, but a local guy is parting out an '84 Z28 and I thought it might be a good donor for a fast ratio box.

Thanks,

Jeff

XTEN is right!!!!
THe quick ratio boxes are the boxes that have an aluminum square top on them and are retained by 4 bolts. I believe thier is also a "S" on the cover. The circular top boxes that are retained by a circlip are not quick ratio boxes.

84 Z28 wont have a quick ratio. 87 and up Z28 and IROC. 87-88 monte SS and buick GN will all have them stock. there are others but thats just a quick common few.

Here is an article from Hemmings Motor News. It tells which make and models had which gear box.
