I am thinking of doing some minor modifications to my 350 ci and I was wondering what popular publication would offer some interesting reading I would like to boost my HP and maximize my throttle response with Ideas like electric switched over drive modifications maybe the same configuration for the 4X4 switches from high to low and stuff like that I don't really want to get into rebuilding the block yet I want to play with the carb and ignition and vacuum lines before I resort to increased stroke cam modification. SO what do you Know?

right now my little daffy duck is a quiet smooth 350ci with dual exhaust out the passengers side I can change that to have a dual split dump port is what I was thinking so I could sound off when I want to and run quiet when I am hidding from the local patrols?

Whenever i want some good reading, i enter 350 build, chevy 350, or something along that line, in yahoo(or other search) search, there are usually some good info from popular mags. such as popular hotrodding, car craft, and other mags along that line, been building motors for over 20 years and still learn something new everyday, i was reading about a 350 build in a 4x4 mag awhile back, that was interesting, some good add-ons for now would be a good intake and carb, and with the intake off, it's not much more work to slide a new bumpstick in (cam& lifters), good flowing exhaust upgrade will always help, o if you do the exhaust dumps, spend the extra money and get the electrical or manual cable ones, that way you wont have to crawl under everytime!!!

I have been watching the Magazine rack every time I go to the grocery and I see lots of MOPAR stuff but as far as chevy I think we're all out dated from the demograph that the mag sales men want to sell to it's all about the MIGHTY V 6 or datsun or nissian hardly ever see a full blown issue for the SBC's anymore heck most kids don't even know how to tune a carburator let alone what it is.,,,,, And yes the more I think about how much fun I would have pulling up to a stop light and being able to open the dumpers with maybe just a little squrit of rubbing alchol to spark some fire a touch of brake an push her to the floorit would be all show to the other side of the street, opps my daughter is watching me :nono:

Chances are you won't find too much on your magizine stands. Youll have better chance on the web searching archives from the magazines. You can then order duplicate copy's ifyou want the hard copy. there are many amny magizines over the years that have had stuff that your looking to read. I like a mag called Antquie Restoration. It specialize in 30's, 40's and 50,s stuff. This mag is sooo old skool that its printed in black and white.

I wonder if that stand would still be around if you had actually purchased the mags you looked at? LOL

QTP sells electronic cutout valves for dumping the mufflers for that open header sound. There are still mags that publish SBC builds but most are not budget builds. And yes the net is a wonderfull place to do research on engine builds. I have a file of builds some where, now where did I put that file?
