what is a good flow quiet muffler that will work good behind a 350 sbc. looking for a sleeper sound that will open up with high rpm?

A Dynomax Ultraflow muffler with some small umerous bend tail pipe will sound pretty quiet until you get on it.
A set of Thrush / California turbos would sound quiet untill you get on it also. They are a bit more restrictive but tail pipes aren't needed to 'quiet' them down.

Seems everyone has a different definition of "quiet".
You can't have your cake and eat it too. Almost without exception, loud = fast. Quiet = slower.

* Turbo style mufflers are touted to be the best flowing "quiet" mufflers.
* I had a pair of Dynomax Turbo mufflers on my truck for years. VERY quiet thoughout the range with a nice burble at idle. Yes, I miss them.
* I now have a Dynomax Ultra X-Flo with full tail pipes. MEGA loud. FAR too loud to be stealthy. The good news is that my truck runs just as fast with the X-FLo muffler as it did with open headers.

since were on the subject of mufflers, what do you guys think about having 2 mufflers on each pipe? When my s-10 was on the street I had cherry bomb turbo's, quiet at idle and loud on the gas, they did sound good. But im looking for something that makes a 400 horse 355 and a muncie 4 speed sound as stock as possible when im rippin through town at 2 in the morning. Any suggestions?

I have seen glass packs in front of flowmasters to quiet them down a bit.

I run a Dynomax glass pack bullet behind a Flowmaster but this is a single exhaust using a Flowmaster Y, I love the throaty sound of it but it is a little loud for 2 in the morning...

I have been toying with the idea of getting some stock mufflers that probably dont flow well and getting some cable operated exhaust cutouts put in front of them for when I want to set off car alarms.lol Right now I am using the cherry bomb turbos and they sound pretty good and where half the price of some flowmasters.

i ran large body magnaflows on mine with a magnaflow tru-x x-pipe and turndowns. they were somewhat quiet and still had no backpressure.
then i put the flowmaster 50 hd's in place of the magnaflows and liked that too. still kinda quiet.
now custom fenderwells turned out after the front tire no mufflers.thats just a hair louder.

dynomax makes the thrush i always liked there fully welded we had a guy spend 230$ on flowmasters for his chevy 1ton big block 6k$ paint job full 3" system sounded kinda tinny well the summer before he built his son a similiar truck but gmc with a father son paint job 355sbc he come in after his dad and wanted something so i told him about the thrush weldeds.2 weeks later his dad was in there for a set of the thrush's.hahaha!
id go with a set of stockers with cutouts in front of them.then it definetly would sleep
