There is a big difference between nice sounding and loud. You may get tired of a loud muffler eventually as will the cops. If you are goin to a muffler shop-- they should put one on and let you hear it .

There was a 69 Camaro at the track pitted next to me,and it had Borla's on it.It sounded great. Not real loud at idle, but real deep and manly. When he did his burnout,it echoed all through the valley. It got real loud. They're supposed to be real expensive

i know what you mean. these are what i used. Hooker super comp max flows. loud, sound awsome, and are a straight through design so make better power, and cheaper then a flowmaster. http://i662.photobucket.com/albums/uu345/ttv8rx7/th_newexhaust.jpg (http://s662.photobucket.com/albums/uu345/ttv8rx7/?action=view&current=newexhaust.flv)

These are great sounding but a little on the expensive side. Some of the drag cars here are running them now and picking up some ET. The plant in located where I live.

I think I posted this here once already........ it's a muffler comparison between:
* My '09 Colorado 5.3 with a single Flowmaster 3" 50 series Delta Flow. The Flowmaster is sounding a little healthier these days... either the engine or the muffler broke in.... LOL
* My S-15 with a single (2-in-2-out) Dynomax Utra-Flo (glasspak). WAY too loud for me for street use, but I'm living with it. Gets crazy loud under full load. The good news is I run ETs the same as open headers.

mines a 350 not a 383 but it shouldnt be much of a differenceIt sounds like there's an X pipe on that Camaro. He shoulda moved the truck outside his door and done a huge heater. Then we'd know what they really sound like. The ones Ive heard sound nothing like that. They're alot deeper, but the ones Ive heard have always been on bbc's and 4 inch.Hey Scotty, the S-10 sounds mean!

can u put an X pipe on an s10 or will the gas tank get in the way and do they really make any more power

yes xpipes can make more power.

you can have one on an s10. It would be easy if you run both sides down the passenger side. it would have to be a small x though.

I love my Flowmaster 40s. Im also a big fan of the Hooker Aerochambers.

I heart Flowmaster 40's.
I had 'em on my old V8s10, my old '00 Silverado, and now on my 2nd V8s10.
I saw the Chevelle Wheelie poster when I was a kid :)

I like the sound of the Dynomax glass pack bullets after Flowmaster 40's or 44's, plenty loud enough for me on the street, the bullets mellow out the tone a bit...

I'm not running duals though, it's a Flowmaster Y pipe setup...
