If you are using the Gen III motor from the 98-02 models, use the same years for the trans from the F body...

Well, I didn't think you were going that new. That is a bit out my league to give an accurate answer. I would look at LS1 tech forum. I can ask the question on another forum for you.

that would be awesome! ya it is almost to new to juggle parts and mods but I got a good deal...........I ll have a look as well I'm thinking I my have to go with a trans out of a c6...............but then were looking at some dollars! I am able to get my hand on out out of a 95 TA ...............I would like to go that route but not sure if that will work without any kind of mods

Plan on lot of work. Find a 6speed out of a 98 or newer f-body. Or just go with a 4l60E built up. The PCM with run the tranny. Plus, you wont have to deal with clutch set up and shifter placement. Thats just my 2cents. Either way, your call. Taker easy.

input shafts are different from LT1 to the LS1. As long as your trans is 98+ you'll be good.

The pinch weld on the meeting of the trans tunnel and firewall needs to be pounded flat witha big hammer for clearance. Other than that, good to go.
