spray fuel into the intake and see if it starts then you know its a fuel problem. Is it sparking? check the wires sound like the wires are flip around

I feel for you. Look on the back side of the head in the bell housing. There you will find a crank sensor. $50 bucks from napa. It will be good as new.. Trust me 93 Cherokee sport 4.0 ho and a 96 Grand with the 4.0.
It is a sob to get to and change but it is possible.. Best of luck to you. I got rid of the sport now I need to get rid of the wifes grand... LOL!

i used to work at jeep, check your crank crank sensor and also check your wiring harness at the firewall. check it where it splices on the passenger side of the engine, right behing where the trans dip stick it, sometimes oil will get into the harness and short it out..

Sounds familiar yet again. (Sadly) I bought a new crank sensor for the back side of the head area and turns out it was bad. Thank You NAPA!!!! After getting totally pissed it ended up at a dealer and watched a guy take the new one out and put another one in. What do you know the piece of crap started right up first try.
Ours would spark good for just a few seconds and then deminish..
