so here we go.

my '91 s-10 pickup, 2wd w/ 4 cyl engine blew a piston a good while back. i had sold the tranny i had, old engines a useless pile of metal in the bed.

i have the 350 block thats goin in, it is one of the last of the generation 1 designs ... manufactured i believe like 88ish-93ish.

i need to get this thing mounted in my truck. ive decided to go ahead and buy some of these s10 v8 mounts like are listed in this site .... but my problem is ... why are there conversion mounts listed for 4.3 to v8 / etc??? it doesn't matter what kind of engine came out?! the engine is no longer there. 4.3 mounts will bolt to my frame too... so im asking wtf for this and what mounts should i actually get? sorry just venting my frustrations at this poor layout on the parts pages.

ok...so, theres both a 2wd 4cyl to v8 mount kit, and also a 4.3 to v8 mount kit, look exactly the same. and what i get from some of the descriptions is you can buy the engine side and keep your existing 4.3 frame mounts if you got em. (or... 2.8 v6 i suppose..) so...

i want this? http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/53?osCsid=33fe8779049aa385189409d982a055a5
for $70'ish? and these mounts got rubber? can't quite tell... i figure ill check autozone see what i can get the frame side for and maybe just order the engine side mount... so i'd get this: http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/55

questions on if the pieces i have will actually be too big and get in the way -> oil pan, starter?

and last. for tranny? friend told me i should go w/ t-56 and doin research i think that it is what is right for me. i am not giving up stick, and this one seems pretty sweet. just damned expensive, and junkyards dun seem to have them. so im lookin at about 2k for one it seems. unless yall have some suggestions for this conundrum?

anyway, for the book i will prolly bundle that w/ my mount ....and hope it is useful.

thx for your time and sorry for venting my frustrations.

everyone needs to somehow end up with the 2.8 frame mounts and the conversion mounts

if you have a 2wd that had a 4cyl you buy the 2wd 4cyl to v8 mount kit
if you had a 2wd that had a 4.3 you buy the 2wd 4.3 to v8 mount kit
yes, they are the same thing

hey chaselp,i have a 94 that used to have a 2.2 in it.i bought the 2.8 mounts and it has been pretty good so far(no clearance problems on oil pan or starter i have a mini starter)the book is pretty useful too.some of the stuff you'll have to figure out for yourself and if you have any questions, there are a bunch of guys(and girls) here that can help you out. the t-56,well,start saving your pennies and go for it.
