87 4x4 v-8 conversion

Greetings,

i am putting a 1953 chevy truck onto a 1987 chevy s-10 4x4 frame. i am putting a 350 in place of the 2.8. the frame has torsion bars for suspension. i was wondering.... do i have to change out the torsion bars for the added weght of the V-8 and older truck cab and bed? I am really not sure how much heavier the 53 chevy truck cab is then the extended cab that was on there.

its going to be about 1000 lbs more on the frame and you may not have to change them out just ajust them after putting it on.
