Ok trying to assemble all the parts before I dismantle the Jimmy in preperation for the V8 swap -
My first question is what is the preferred/best way to lower the truck - Have seen both spindle and spring kits for front and block and spring kits for the rear. Not looking for huge drop 2-3" front and 3-4" in the rear.

I have an 88 blazer and have the 3" drop lower control arms and the 3" lowering leaf springs. The blazer is a little heavier than the trucks and the rear squats down a little more. What is nice about the front is the stock spring can be used. That make the alignment soo much easier. http://s676.photobucket.com/albums/vv121/88LT1Blazer/?action=view¤t=100_2600.jpg
That is the stock spindle and spring.

Thanks I appreciate the picture -- that is the height I was looking for --
I will get the Drop arms and springs for the rear. Will the springs work with an explorer (exploder - LOL) rear end. I just happen to have a nice one with disc brakes posi and 4.10 gears laying around.

The difference is in the spring perches. The Explorer is 1/2" wider at the perches. Most guys just spread the springs which put a little side pressure on the bushings at the ends.
The Drop arms are DJM
The rear springs are Bell Tech
