got a 91 s10 with a 350 tbi motor in it. at idle it sounds like it missfires but it is a consistant "bump" if you will. and i think that is part of what is boggin the truck down. i ran my buddy in his 94 integra, and he sat right next to me. also, i did a cat delete and put an msd coil on it. the coil looked stock and was rusted lookin. got that fixed and it ran better but im pretty sure that motor has more potential than an effin honda...anyone have any ideas or things to look for. its kind of annoying havin a 4cyl sit next to a small block. and also, ive seen several post about vortech heads? what is nessesary to get those thrown on the motor, tunes, head work, diff intake? kinda curious. thanks again for the help

take off the air cleaner and watch the injectors, do the spray every few seconds at idle or do they just pour?

if it is a 91 you have the same intake, you just dont use the center 4 bolts because the vortec doesn't have the holes or a crossover. I believe

rusty - i took it off and it wasnt pourin fuel or spitting every few seconds. it all looked normal.

manyfire - the truck itself is a 4.3 from 91. i dont know what year the 5.7 that was swapped is. but does that mean that they will bolt right on? and what kind of head work needs to be done before they go on? somethins tellin me ther might be a thread on here with someone whos already done this lol. i didnt look to to deep to find one. if yall know thatd make it easier on all of us haha.

and i can only do one post w/in 24 hrs dunno why i have to wait but o well

Are you running the 4.3 computer and chip with the 350? The reason you can only post once a day is you have not paid for the membership. You are considered a junior member for the free stuff.

if your valve covers are center bolt then the heads are the same pattern as the vortecs, pull the valve cover off and look at the casting number to be sure. if it is a tbi 87-? they will most likely end in 193 the same crap I have.

i did some research and you have to buy the actual manifold for the vortec the performer 2116 is the correct one, $175 at summit racing. if you look at the bolt patterns the vortec intake bolt holes are higher and the outter intake holes are angled. BTW thanks Melon for bringing it to my attention

the injectors are to small for the motor you need 5.7 injectors they will swap out with each other.
