In the 1/8th, launch is even more important than the 1/4 mile.... So we\'d probably be just as, or maybe even more interested in your tires, gears, traction devices as the engine.

in my old monte ss 320hp at the flywheel. full interior 215/70/15 tires and an open diff with 3.73 gears best run in the 1/8th 8.8 dont remember the speed. on an average 8.9-9.1 so should be about the same in an s10 maybe a little faster if you get a good launch. i practiced as much as possible on the back roads to launch with out burning out.

9.2-9.5 but all that depends on traction.

my full size extended cab GMC, 355, 350HP auto w/stock convertor, 3.73 posi, 275/60, cross over tool box and other extra weight @ 5500lbs ran a 9.5 eighth. 60\' was almost 2 seconds!! but my motor pulls hardafter the first 100\'.
it will be better after i get a higher convertor in it.
so my guess would be in the low 8\'s for you
