never mind i just seen amp gauge. is it an (AMP) gauge or a (VOLT) gauge. volt gauge is hooked up as described on top post. amp gauge one wire to battery and the other to the hot charging post on the back of the alt.

The amp gauge can measures the drop in Amps across a something doing work. Like the electric fan or the windshiled wipers. Hook it in parallel with whatever you want to measure and it should tell you the drop in Amps between those spots in the circuit.

OK, lets try this again.........

...... As I stated yesterday in your other query:

Your other ammeter thread (http://s10v8.com/viewtopic.php?topic=10796&forum=2)

That\'s the way I\'d do it.

............ Speeder is right, you can stick the ammeter almost anywhere you\'d like to measure current flow. But the most logical place, and accepted practice is like I said, between the battery and the junction point of all the electrical loads/alternator output. When I say \"between the battery\", I mean after the heavy lead to the starter is tapped off, of course.
