i\'d probably hafta side with dodge hehehe, sorry. only because my dad works for them, and they have the HEMI!! if it came down to a $$ spent vs. equipment you\'ve got ratio, and how fast your going, i\'m sure chevy beats the others hands down. Yeah, they can. I\'ve seen some quick Dakotas out there. But, if you put the same ammount of work into a v8 s-series, chevy\'s gonna win hands down. Those Dakaotas weigh a ton. And, the rams weigh soo much too.

In a recent issue of hot rod, it was made clear to me that the new hemi isn\'t really much of a hemi. They do a cross section of the heads on the 426 and on this new 5.7L \"hemi\", and the 5.7L hemi really doesn\'t have a hemispherical head, where the 426 and 392 do. I believe that the 5.7L is making about 345 factory horse though. It\'s a decent motor that will make horsepower, but I think mopar called it a hemi just to be a money maker.

the dodge vehicles just cost too damn much money to build... and juust cuz they have a hemi doesn\'t make them a better company then chevy? like as if chev hasn\'t made a good motor... for example... ls6 454 chevelle\'s they\'d run with a hemi cuda all day long, the 427 corvette\'s back in the day... nothing could touch them... the copo nova\'s and camaro\'s with the big blocks in them, they were invcredible, and lets not forget the gto\'s excuse me i think that gm invented the muscle car back in 1964 when pontiac released the gto it was the hottest thing around, for ther first time you could buy a production car that ran 13\'s in stock trim, dodge didn\'t effectively come into play untill 66 with the charger and \"barracuda\" that didn\'t even become a real role player untill 1967, ford didn\'t have a real muscle car untill 67 because the 65-66 mustangs were slow, they didn\'t have any kind of real hp... the real mustangs started in 67 along with stuff like the torino and fairlane. every car company has their ups and their down\'s just think of all the crap cars out there, the ford pinto, that thing was the hugest mistake ever especially when they glorified it and tried putting the mustang name on it. dodge with the k car\'s and inventing the minivan werent exactly their higher days, and chevy with the rust prone recycled steel 80\'s trucks... horrible, so just remember all car companies are equal and all had their great days, soem people may have their preferance but honostly i have owned a car made by every com[pany and i could care lesswhat name it has on it, but basically i decided to stick mostly with chevy because of their simplicity and their cheap prices on things, sure hemi\'s may have been great but just go price out some parts for them and see what you think then....

i have to correct you on that... amc had the 69 amx, 390 and a 4 speed (and no it\'s not a ford 390) they were \"rated\" at 425 hp and ran mid 10\'s right out of the box... and also for it to be classed a production vehicle doesn\'t there have to be over 500 produced? the lingenfelter corvette is a production vehicle and i\'m pretty sure they ran 10\'s and do 220mph.... so the thunderbolt isn\'t the fastest production vehicle... the copo camaro\'s and novas ran lower than that too.... and they were production vehicles....

The new hemi is crap they stuck the name on the new motor didn\'t even bother painting it hemi orange a friend of mine took one for a test drive and just laughed at the salesman but if you stick a name on something people will buy it go figure.
