got it started

re-started motor today after little work carb kit, wires, plugs. Timing is correct wires correct at this point Im down to 64 jets and spits back from carb about 2nd gear from mod speed have not got on it hard yet. do any of you know what I should try next to stop the spit back.

Without knowing all the details, I would say that you need to check you timing. You said it was right but did you check it with a timing light? Do you know what kind of an advance curve you have? Are you sure the firing order is right? Is the vacuum canister on your distributor hooked up to the right port on the carb? Double check everything and post what you find.
