You are right, it doesn\'t look good. It looks like a crack in the metal and it is rusted. The filler on top of it doesn\'t help. I am not a body man, but you will need to strip it down to metal, repair it and repaint.

cab mounts shot ??? you will have to grind the crack out and weld or brace with piece under neith

thats what i figured. just curious of why thats all and the passenger side has started too. maybe the frame is tweaking to much or something. i just dont want to get another cab and it does the same thing. thanks for the reply.

That looks a little suspious to me... I would suggest checking other areas of the cab. The mounts , mounting points and look for spot from the inside that would prove that it had been accident repaired. I\'ve seen simalier happen to other vehicles where the replacemant panels have been welded back together. The inside of some pieces can\'t be gotten to to properly protect them from rust. And thus odd rot spots or lines will show up eventually.

Acording to how \"bad\" the rest of the cab is... replacement may be the best reapir(and cheapest).

Space.

when we painted the truck we sanded it to bare metal and went from there. there was no areas of repair or anything. im thinking on just gettin another cab and doing the work to it versus this one. i dont want to put a bunch of time in this one and find out it cant be saved. so ill get another one and sandblast it and see what i get. thanks

I had that problem when I didn\'t have a cage or solid body mounts. Now that I have a cage and all my mods done I don\'t get any flex in the chassis any more...

When you change the cab, do you swap the VIN plates?

dont know i was gonna swap em so i dont have to go through the paper work hassle. just in case therer was one.

hey fox im looking to installing a cage anyway. thats why im going to get a new cab sand blast and primer it and then paint it all the same color. i figured it would stop any flex i have. hell i havent even had it to the track yet lol
