What is the easyiest way to get the bushings out of the eye of the leaf spring? Will they just fall out if tapped on with a pursuasion stick. My slidalinks came with new bushings that are smaller and have to be installed to work *not to mention that the factory ones have 200000 on them.LOL

Torch them, then beat on them.

I could do that, but im afraid it might warp the end of the spring, then i wont be able to get the new bushing in correctly.

Just got done doing this.

TAKE THEM OUTSIDE AND BURN THEM OUT.

IT\'S MESSY.

THEN USE A AIR CHISEL AND COLLASPE THE OUTER STEEL SLEEVE THEN KNOCK IT OUT.

YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO BURN THE REAR TOP FRAME ONES OUT ALSO.

DON\'T WORRY ABOUT HEATING UP THE METAL YOU WON\'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO HURTING THE SPRINGS.

Finish by pounding in the new bushings with a large hammer.

I installed enegry suspension bushings.

If you think the rear springs are bad try the lower a arms. They really suck.

Good luck

I used a balljoint press and a washer the size of the metal sleeve to push it right out worked great and pushed the Energy Suspension bushings in.

Or the the torch/burning method will work once the rubber is melted it\'s alot easier to get them out and just hammer the new ones in.
