how fast should my s10 technically go? i have a 355 small block with 600cfm carb and headers, turbo 350 tranny, and 308 gears in rearend, how fast should it really be able to go? some people say 85 some say 120, im not sure because the speedometer is off. 75 is 55, and ive had it go all the way over to about 45 again.

My speedo is off also. Mine has 3.42 gears and at 2800 I\'m doing 58 mph. There is a formula do figure the speed you are doing with the gears, tires and rpm you have. But I\'m sorry to say I don\'t know what it is. Some one I\'m sure will give the correct answer.

I just found out that with a 26 inch tall tire, with 3.08 gears and a th350 that at 5000rpm you could go 121mph.

When i had 3.08\'s in my truck.. i had a TH350, and a 28\" tire.. my top speed was probably around 130-140.. i was crossing the traps in second gear at 6500RPM going 110... with a whole entire gear to spare. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif whether or not body panels would have come flying off is another question! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

It depends on how tall your tire is, and how high your motor will rev.

all i know is with my 3.08\'s 700r4 and 26\" tire i can do about 160mph.... not sure what rpm\'s though i have no tach. i have a digital aftermarket speedo though and it\'s within 1mph at 60, i\'ve had it at 164 before and it\'s scary.... there\'s no need to go that fast, 130 is even kinda scary, i figured out my top speed one time and if i could get my enigne to rev to 7000rpm in 4rth gear (i\'d need about 2500hp though) i would be able to do about 320mph.... my engine does rev to 7000 it\'s balanced to 9000 it just can\'t rev that high in 4rth gear...
