non posi housing and posi carrier

if i do this can i use my non posi axles, i found a 4.11 posi and this guy will trade me for my 3.08 open gears and carrier if i swap them out he wants better fuel milage and i want faster et\'s. please let me know if i can just change carriers and pinion gears and use normal axles

You just have to make sure that you have the same splined axles. The later S-10\'s had diferent size axles. I think it is 25 and 28 splines? Just make sure you get the right slpines for the carrier you get. And there is know difference between posi and non-posi housings.
