ls1 mounts

just wondering about the ls1 mounts. do they replace the 4.3 mounts or are they a complete replacement for them? also can they be bolted onto the frame or do they need to be welded?

they work with the 2.8 frame mounts.

ok, as I said the ls1 mounts work with the 2.8 FRAME mounts, so in order to use them, or the regular conversion mounts, you need to put the 2.8 FRAME mounts on the FRAME!

i was just kidding around but youre saying i need to replace the 4.3 mounts with the 2.8

correct. take the 4.3 mounts off the frame and replace them with the 2.8 mounts. the holes are there already. i heard they are a * to change but can still be done. then the LS1 mounts that you buy as well bolt to the engine. then when you stab the motor you line the frame mounts and the engine mounts up and bolt them together. most guys just starting a swap dont realize that there are 2 sets of mounts involved. and thats on any car or truck.
