Does anyone have any info on these heads? What kind of performance might one expect from them? I have read conflicting information about them. Some say crappy, some say good, some say 1.94\'s others say 2.02. If anyone knows some reall good info on them please post! Thanks. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

I\'ve always heard that 882s are the best crappy heads because they were one of the last heavy casting head but one of the first smog heads.
I\'ve never seen a factory 882 with 1.94 valves, but you can put them in.
There is a hole in the runners underneath where the rocker arm stud goes and that hurts flow.441s and 487s are similar heads but
they don\'t have the hole in the runner and they flow better.
It almost takes a domed piston to make decent compression with a 76cc head.
It\'s hard to find a set thats not cracked because if they ever get hot they\'re done for
I have a set on my Camaro and my dad has some on his 383 so we ain\'t afraid to use them. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

these heads, dont let them go past 220degrees ever, they are a lightweight smog style head, they supposedly flow well for stock,i personally would never use them,it all depends on what you are doin with your ride,i had a set of 186 \'71 vette heads that ran good with a small cam(REAL GOOOOOD)but on the real side your motor is like your relationship with your girl if you dont have good head you wont perform at your best http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

The 882\'s are a fairly good street head if you can find a pair that are not cracked. I too would not run them on anything that I was looking to make a lot of power and turn some high rpm\'s.
Now that is just my opion. And like a$$holes and belly buttons everyone has one. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

i just checked the casting of my old heads and thasts what they are 882\'s, they sucked....it made no hp, i bolted on some edelbrock e-tec-200\'s and it made the hugest difference, i honostly thought i put nitrous or something on it, it is very hard to getany performance out of these heads because of the fact that they have 76cc chambers... to make decent power get heads with smaller chambers... io have been told the 305ho 4v, have 1.94 valves and 60cc chambers, not sure if thats correct or not but clean up the ports with a dremel when they\'re apart getting rebuilt and they should flow decent numbers... i did this on my old 305 and thsoe heads were a 60cc chamber camelbacks off of a 283 and it made a big difference in power it\'s amazing what a few thou off the intake and exhaust ports can do for performance
